Ongoing strategic support or a helping hand

Let us be your partner for excellence

At Meliora Scotland we are more than just a financial consultant or outsourcing service. We are here to help you be the best you can be, a true business partner we really get to know and understand our clients.

There are many reasons why you might need support in your organisation…

  • You want flexible access to experienced financial expertise but in a cost effective way
  • You want to grow and need support creating and delivering that vision
  • You want to improve the governance and reduce risk across your organisation
  • You are seeking external funding and need help preparing robust financial projections
  • There are areas of your operations which worry you or you never get around to focusing on

Whatever the reason, we want to talk to you.  We can offer ongoing support or specific packages of work tailored to your needs and budget.

We're based in Edinburgh but the majority of our work can be completed virtually so distance is no barrier to getting underway.

Welcome!

Hello, I'm Louise.  I'm a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience and I'm excited to support you on your journey.   I've worked across accounting practice, financial services, the third sector and I have a real passion for numbers. There's nothing I enjoy more than helping people to understand their business better, develop meaningful reporting and sharing what I’ve learned along the way.

I'm also a lifelong volunteer and can’t help but get involved when I see opportunities to support not-for-profit groups in maximising their impact and running as smoothly as possible.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many Scottish charities in both employed and voluntary roles, and I’m constantly inspired by the dedication of their leaders. Their commitment to making a real difference in their communities is what led to the creation of Meliora Scotland. Our mission is simple: to provide accessible, affordable expertise to help not-for-profits establish the right reporting, systems, and governance. By doing this, we ensure these vital services not only survive but thrive in the long term.

You’ll see us encouraging you to get in touch throughout this site—and we truly mean it! There’s no hard sell or obligation; I simply love talking to people about their vision. Don’t worry if you’re unsure about what you need (or if you even need anything at all)—I can help you figure that out.

If we can support you, I’ll work with you to scope a project that fits your needs and budget. And if we’re not the right fit, I probably know someone who is. Over the years, I’ve built a strong network of fantastic professionals, and I’m always happy to make recommendations.

Hope to speak with you soon!

Louise

How does it work?

Discovery meeting

After you get in touch we'll co-ordinate with you to arrange an initial discovery meeting with Louise to talk about your organisation, what you need support with and whether thats for a specific project or on a longer term basis.  This is your opportunity to identify if we are a good fit for what you need and for us to explain a bit more about what we can offer.

Service proposal

After the initial meeting Louise will prepare a summary report on what we have discussed and come up with a proposal on the scope of services and the costs involved.  This will be issued to you as soon as possible after our meeting - usually within 5 working days - for you to review.

Let's get going

Once you are happy with the scope and budget, we'll take care of the paperwork and send on a more detailed client questionnaire and onboarding schedule to ensure we can get underway as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Working together

As part of the onboarding process we'll agree how to work together including how you prefer to communicate and how often we will meet.  This very much depends on the nature of the work involved and what your personal requirements are.

Moving on

For our ongoing support contracts we operate a 30 day rolling notice period so you don't need to worry about being tied into a long term commitment.  Whether you are ready to take back over yourself or recruit a permanent employee we'll help transition your portfolio of work back in-house seamlessly.
